C&G L3 Fashion Accessory (scarf for a man)
It’s hard to photograph deep blue yarn! It is baby camel/silk laceweight 800m per 100g. It is a cleverly devised (LOTS of sampling to develop the stitch pattern and trying different yarns) fabric, with asymmetric chevron-look raised stitch pattern that uses a crossed cable and the scarf-wrap itself is an asymmetric shape.

The visual research & design work is presented in an amazing folded format – which is VERY hard to photograph properly. It is for a 13 year old and based on traditional Japanese decorative box-bags. A huge amount of research was done on this.

The design work presentation is impossible to photograph properly, it is an amazingly constructed fold-up-and-in ‘book’. The inspiration, visual research and contextual linking are superb. This also ticks syllabus boxes for using a man-made yarn (it’s Acrylic) and using colourwork in 2+ colours. The design development sketches were so pale that they didn’t show up…

Level 3 M10 Fashion Accessory
Long alpaca wrap/scarf graduating wide to narrow, worked in Intarsia colour blocks. I can’t find the photos of the knit sampling but will have a search on camera cards.

A surprise birthday present for a friend who loves the woodland walk that inspired the colours used here.
