The design brief was for a lampshade to fit into an existing bedroom interior; with colours and pattern to fit in with decorative items, including Log Cabin patchwork quilts, already in the room. It is knitted in Hemp on tiny, tiny needles. I think the design progression work (there was a lot) is on a camera card somewhere. I will search & add the pics later.
The strips of slightly bent black card were used to push out the pleats during blockimg – a clever idea.
Attached to the frame with well tensioned crochet. Crochet was also used to cover the frame struts and make them less visible.
